Recreation
There
is plenty of activities to do in this part of France. With
the weather being so reliable and bright during the summer months
there are all the usual outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing,
canoeing, tennis, cycling, walking and horse back riding.
Throughout the year the traditional game of "boules" or
"petanque" is a favorite past-time for the French and
also enjoyed by visitors.

are based in Albas and run canoeing trips on both the rivers Dordogne
and Lot.

Fishing
The
River Lot itself is massive, stretching through the Pyranees.
Last summer a 22kg carp was caught just outside of the house! The
fish normally caught in the river include Roach, Black Bass, Barbel,
Bream, Chub, Perch, Catfish, Pike, Pike/Perch, and Carp, for which
it is particularly popular. Local anglers tell us that the
best time for Carp is April to June and September to mid October.
Being fairly far south and west, September and October often provide
some of the most pleasant weather of the year.
