Les
Terrasses
is a restored village house with splendid views over the river to vineyards
and hills beyond. Sleeping up to 6 people, the house is ideal for 2 or 3
couples sharing or for a family. As well as being very close to the historic
village centre, the house enjoys a quiet location with extensive views. Albas
village has a boulangerie, epicerie, post office, bar and restaurants within
a short walk. Larger towns with banks and supermarkets are a few kms away
through vineyard-lined roads.
Situated
in a picturesque and friendly village of Albas, with its narrow streets and
champagne coloured stone houses that are famous in this region, this charming
gite overlooks the River Lot and some of the most famous Cahors vineyards in
the valley.
The
accommodation:
There
are 2 large, beautifully furnished double bedrooms and a smaller room with a
double sofa bed. One bedroom, bathroom and toilet are on the middle floor;
the second shower room and toilet are on the top floor adjacent to the other
2 bedrooms. There is also access from the top floor to a sunny terrace, the
garden and pool.
On the ground floor is a large lounge/kitchen opening onto a covered dining
terrace with barbecue. The well-equipped kitchen contains a gas/electric
cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The small lounge area
has comfortable seating, an open fireplace and a small TV with access to BBC
and ITV. There is an oil-fired central heating system if required in winter.

A large cottage style sitting room and dining room with lots of character, a
large open fireplace with wood-burner and central heating. Large windows with
spectacular view of the River Lot and countryside.

The grounds:
Situated on the side of a hill, the house benefits from several terraces and
a lawn, offering the choice of sun or shade as well as great views.

The small (6m x 3m) private swimming pool is situated at the top level, has a
swim-jet for energetic swimmers and a large partially shaded terrace against
the rock, from which to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The pool area is
very private and equipped with loungers, chairs, tables and other comforts.
During the summer months the pool area receives sunlight throughout the day.
Shaded areas can be found against the rock or under the umbrellas provided.
The pool area has lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The paved
patio has plenty of room for you to lay back in loungers and relax.

Had a great 2 weeks in Albas and
your beautiful home. Did plenty of walking, eating and drinking. Used the local bus quite a lot and went to
Toulouse by train for a day although it was good to return to the peace and
quiet of Albas. Great meals at La Recreation and L’Imhotep. Essex,
